Corn Dolly is a charming 34ft traditional narrowboat with a sought-after residential mooring at Bristol Marina. Compact yet comfortable, she provides an ideal living space for one or two people, making her perfect as a city-centre home, weekday base, or weekend retreat.

The Bristol Marina mooring offers exceptional convenience and value, with monthly mooring fees of £341. Facilities include secure gated access, free parking, mains electricity, shower and toilet facilities, laundry services, and an attractive marina setting. The vibrant Bristol Harbourside—with its restaurants, bars, theatres, cinemas, and live music venues—is just a short walk away.

Inside, Corn Dolly has been thoughtfully configured to maximise space and comfort. The galley kitchen includes a sink with electric water pump, a Russell Hobbs 240V fridge, and a gas hob. A separate toilet compartment houses a cassette toilet. The main cabin features two bench seats with a dining table that easily converts into a generous 6ft-wide double bed. Storage is provided beneath the seating and within the galley cupboards.

For year-round comfort, a new log burner, flue, and chimney were professionally installed in 2026.

Powered by a reliable Lister diesel engine, Corn Dolly was built before 1972, although the original builder is unknown. The complete stainless steel exhaust system was replaced in 2025. She has remained at Bristol Marina since the 1990s, with the ownership history of the previous four owners known.

The boat features a steel hull with a timber cabin built on ash frames, clad with tongue-and-groove boarding, marine plywood, and a fibreglass exterior finish.

In 2020, Corn Dolly underwent extensive refurbishment by The Bristol Classic Boat Company. This included lifting the boat from the water, cleaning the hull, fitting new magnesium anodes, replacing any deteriorated marine plywood and fibreglass sections, and installing new double-glazed windows and rear doors.

In January 2025, the boat was professionally lifted again for a full hull and engine bay survey. All recommended maintenance and repairs were completed, the hull was treated with black epoxy blacking, new magnesium anodes were fitted, and the topsides were repainted in their current colours.

A new Boat Safety Certificate was issued in March 2025, valid until 2029.

The electrical system was professionally rewired in 2017, providing both 12V and 240V circuits. Two batteries were replaced in 2025, with a third new battery fitted in June 2026. A solar panel and inverter have also been installed, although the solar charging system is not currently in use.

Corn Dolly would suit someone seeking an affordable city-centre home, a weekday base for work, or a comfortable first boat. She would also make an excellent option for a student or anyone beginning their career in Bristol who wants the lifestyle and convenience of living on the water.
